There has been a men-only version of the Rotherham Flourish course which ends on 12th July. There is an exhibition of the art, poetry and short stories produced on 12th and a mini celebration from 10am to 1pm.
The course has been very successful with great feedback from the group about how the course benefited them in different ways. Almost all of them have written poetry, short stories and produced artwork with some already published on the Sheffield Flourish website.
There were very important and serious discussions about men’s mental health, lack of support and help, and lots of stigma about men living with mental health difficulties. The group ranged from 24-70 years old and included men with a wide range of difficult experiences both past and present. This exhibition/celebration seeks to give recognition and acknowledgement to what they have produced during the course to a wider audience.
