Sheffield Autistic Society is a local charity for autistic people (including Asperger/Aspergers Syndrome), their families and carers. The Society is inclusive and aims to support any individual, of any age, who may be on the Autistic Spectrum. They provide support and information, and campaign for Sheffield people with autism and Asperger syndrome.
The group for autistic or aspergers adults usually meets on the last Thursday each month (check website for variations) 7.00 – 9.00pm at the SHU Charles St Building, Sheffield Hallam University, 133 Charles Street, Sheffield, S1 2ND (situated on the junction of Charles Street and Arundel Street).
However, due to Covid 19, this group is currently meeting online via Zoom on the last Thursday of every month. New members are very welcome to join after reading the Adult group guidelines. Please email Liz or Phil before coming along so that the group leaders know to expect you at [email protected] or [email protected]
The group is open to any person on the spectrum who is interested in learning more about and sharing their experiences. Some of our members do not have a formal diagnosis of autism but identify with the condition.
There are discussions, speakers and presentations throughout the year and there is always an opportunity for informal chat and questions.
Please note: events may not be running on bank holidays and over the Christmas period. Please double check with the organiser (before attending) if you are unsure.
