About

Sheffield Alcohol Support Service (SASS) is a local charity providing information, advice, and support to people concerned with their own or someone else’s drinking.

Their services include:

Alcohol Recovery Community (ARC)

ARC is a peer support service helping people through all aspects of their recovery journey.  This includes supporting those with an alcohol addiction with their physical and mental health, lifestyle, well-being and family involvement.  ARC offers a range of approaches tailored towards the recovery needs of the individual. These include: drop-in groups; structured SMART recovery® groups; sober social activities; recovery coaching; mentoring; healthy lifestyle activities; and 1-2-1 Support.

Families Together

Families Together is a partnership project aimed at helping families who are facing challenges meet the needs of their children. With the support of the designated social worker/support worker, they visit families and support is provided through holistic interventions.

Referrals to this service are made by the child’s social worker or family support worker. However, you can contact SASS for more information or to seek guidance on how to make a referral.

Waypoint Training

Waypoint offers a range of accredited and non-accredited courses. These include Drugs and Alcohol Awareness, Counselling Skills, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Interventions for Alcohol. They can also design and deliver bespoke training packages for organisations.
