Emmaus Sheffield is a community that supports formerly homeless and socially excluded people.

The community is based in a former cutlery factory that is close to Sheffield city centre.  They provide a home, support and work for homeless people.

Their mission is to work together to overcome homelessness and social exclusion and they do this through running a second hand goods and furniture shop where those who are part of a community can take stock of their lives, deal with any issues they might have, re-establish or make new relationships, and find a sense of purpose or belonging.

The revenue from the social enterprise shop pays for companions’ (those who live in an Emmaus community and work in the social enterprise) home, food and upkeep, as well as providing a small weekly allowance. For information about how to join the community and referrals click here.
