Brunsmeer Awareness Football Club run a free weekly women’s football session that is mental health friendly. Brunsmeer Awareness is run by Sheffield Flourish.
Their weekly drop-in sessions are friendly and fun and are for women who’ve experienced mental health issues, whether you have a diagnosis or not. They welcome women from all backgrounds and all levels of fitness and ability, whether you’ve played in the past or the game is new to you.
The Brunsmeer Awareness FC women’s session is on a Wednesday evening at Goodwin Sports Centre, 7pm – 8pm. Session is currently closed to new players due to capacity. Please email lisa.thompson-cox@sheffieldflourish.co.uk or phone 07736 149032 to register on their waiting list.
Brunsmeer Awareness also run another group that is open to all genders on a Tuesday.
All you need to wear is active wear e.g. tracksuit bottoms, jumper, t-shirt and trainers and please don’t forget to bring a water bottle. Led by Brunsmeer Awareness FC coaches.
Sessions include a kick about and skills training, and they have encouraged some of their members to start working towards a Level 1 Coaching Certificate.
