Childline is a free, confidential 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK, provided by the NSPCC. Children and young people (aged under 19) can call the helpline about any problem, at any time – day or night. The number is 0800 1111

1-2-1 Online Chat

It is also possible to contact a counsellor using their 1-2-1 online counsellor chat facility, or through their message boards. At the moment, this service is available:

  • 7.30am – 10.30pm – Monday to Friday
  • 9am – 10:30pm – Saturday to Sunday

If you’ve joined the queue for a 1-2-1 chat before 10:30pm, you’ll still get through to a counsellor.

Childline Website

The Childline website contains a variety of articles including advice on bullying, sexual health, abuse & safety, home & families, eating, feelings & emotions, self-harm, sexual identity, mental health, sex & relationships, crime & law, deaf issues, racism, school worries, and safety & online bullying.
