Grief Encounter

Grief Encounter supports bereaved children and young people, and their families and friends, across the UK.

They provide the following services as well as detailed information and advice on their website:

Grieftalk

A specialist helpline for children, teenagers and young people who have recently experienced the death of someone they love. It’s open 9am-9pm, 5 days a week.

• Use their online chat service to talk with a grieftalk counsellor

Family Programme

Grief Encounter recognises that each family’s needs are individual, and change over time. Their level of support is varied, with services ranging from a supportive voice at the end of a phone, group activities with likeminded families at Fundays, Grief Groups and Remembrance Days, to long term one-to-one counselling. They provide bespoke services with professional counsellors, trained in the area of bereavement, determining a personal plan for each individual.

E-Counselling

Young people suffering from bereavement who would like to contact Grief Encounter from across the UK, can get in contact online. Communicating with young people online allows Grief Encounter counsellors to access them whenever they need to talk to someone, or when they reach out for advice and guidance. It also allows Grief Encounter to extend their reach across the whole of the UK, and not be limited by location. Contact support@griefencounter.org.uk for more information.
