Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at Hackenthorpe Lodge provides support to people aged 16 and above in South Yorkshire who have been raped or sexually assaulted. This could be recently or in the past.

The centre offers crisis support following a rape or assault. This includes options such as medical assessment/treatment, a forensic examination, and referrals to ongoing aftercare services. You can choose which services you access and can choose as much or as little as you would like. They will also help you to understand your rights and options.

The service is confidential and independent of the police, and members of the public can refer themselves without having reported a crime to the police. Currently, Hackenthorpe are unable to provide a walk-in service and you will need to book an appointment. To do this, please call them on 0330 223 0099 (24 hours a day, 365 days a week). You may choose to stay anonymous – you do not have to give your name to access their services. They aim to offer appointments within 24 hours.

If you are in danger phone 999.

They also have information for professionals working within agencies such as police, health and social care, local authorities and the public sector who may wish to refer visitors to the SARC or familiarise themselves with their services.
