Sheffield Autistic Society is a local charity for autistic people (including Asperger/Aspergers Syndrome), their families and carers. The Society is inclusive and aims to support any individual, of any age, who may be on the Autistic Spectrum. They provide support and information, and campaign for a better world for autistic people.

If you are the parent or carer of an autistic person, or if you have been diagnosed with autism/Aspergers’ yourself, you are not alone. Sheffield’s Autism Joint Needs Assessment says that, “It is estimated that between 8,500 to as many as over 20,000 people (all ages) in Sheffield could have an Autistic Spectrum Condition.”

The Sheffield Autistic Society run regular groups and one-off events throughout the year.  See their website for all their latest activities and how you can access them.

Their website also provides lots of useful information on different topics relevant to people with autism and their families (Diagnosis, Support Services, Education, Employment, Carers and many more).

Please note that the people who facilitate the Sheffield Autistic Society are all volunteers and therefore they may not be able to respond straight away. Please email them via the link on the website.
