Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) is a specialist service offering free and confidential support to anyone who has experienced rape or sexual abuse at any time in their life. To self refer to get the support you may need, please go to their website or click here for counselling information.

The services SRASAC provide are:

  • Information and Support line is available – Tel: 07517 100 757 (Monday – Friday 9am-5pm). This offers practical support for people who want to know more about their services. It’s a completely confidential service and you don’t need to give your name. You can leave a message if it is safe for you to do so and they’ll call you back within the line opening times.
  • Free confidential face to face counselling for anyone aged 13 or over who has experienced rape or sexual abuse at any point in their lives
  • Practical and emotional support is available from an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA).  This is available to those who are 18+ regardless of whether or not you have chosen to report to the police
  • Children and Young Persons’ Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (CYP ISVA) service. This is a free and confidential specialist service providing practical help and emotional support to children and their families, who have been raped or sexually assaulted at any time in their lives.
  • Various group sessions that are open to anyone aged 18+ who has had an initial face to face assessment with the service (or has accessed the service in the past)
  • Advice and resources on their website for people who are trying to support someone who has been raped or sexually abused

Their services are completely confidential and independent of the police.

Coronavirus update 29th March 2023: SRASAC is offering full support to all clients.  Face to face appointment are limited but we are able to offer support via text/ telephone or secure video call contact as well.  We intend to continue using these new ways of working as we move forward in the future.
