Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS) is an organisation whose purpose is to meet the needs and break the isolation of those bereaved by the suicide of a close relative or friend.  They are a self-help organisation and of their volunteers have themselves been bereaved by suicide.

SOBS offer the following emotional and practical support:

  • Confidential telephone helpline
  • E-mail support
  • Local support groups
  • Retreats
  • LGBTQ support
  • Website containing information and advice

The National Helpline 0300 111 5065 is available 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mon – Fri.

Sheffield Group

The Sheffield support group meets 1st Wednesday of the month. Please contact Nick on 07858 290078 for further details of times and location of meetings.  If you get through to the answerphone please leave a message and one of them will get back to you.
