Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) is a specialist service offering free and confidential support to anyone who has experienced rape or sexual abuse at any time in their life. The services SRASAC provide are:

  • Free confidential face to face counselling for anyone aged 13 or over who has experienced rape or sexual abuse at any point in their lives
  • Practical and emotional support is available from an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA).  This is available to those who are 18+ regardless of whether or not you have chosen to report to the police
  • Children and Young Persons’ Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (CYP ISVA) service.  This is a free and confidential specialist service providing practical help and emotional support to children and their families, who have been raped or sexually assaulted at any time in their lives.
  • Various group sessions that are open to anyone aged 18+ who has had an initial face to face assessment with the service (or has accessed the service in the past)
  • Advice and resources on their website for people who are trying to support someone who has been raped or sexually abused

Their services are completely confidential and independent of the police.

Coronavirus update 13th August 2020: Please note that at present SRASAC is running an adapted service. Counselling assessments and sessions are being done virtually. The ISVA Service is meeting people virtually but where there is a court appointment this will be done in person.
