Sheffield Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Team (SEDATT) is the NHS eating disorder service for children and young people up until age 16. They are a specialist team working within Sheffield CAMHS.

SEDATT assess young people for a number of eating disorders including:

  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Binge eating disorder (BED)

They offer therapeutic sessions and an allocated a case-worker.

There is currently no service at Sheffield Children’s designed or commissioned to assess and treat children and young people who may be suffering from avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), but they can still provide some support for young people in Sheffield with ARFID.

After they receive a referral, a team member will have an initial telephone conversation with the family/carer of the young person. They may then be offered an assessment clinic appointment where they will meet with members of SEDATT.

To be referred to SEDATT, speak to your GP. If you are already in contact with mental health services, such as CAMHS, ask them for a referral.

Sheffield Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Team (SEDATT) work closely with their colleagues at the Eating Disorders Service which supports people over 16 with eating disorders.
